FOLK CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS

TYPICAL DANCES BOYACA
LA CARRANGA

The carranga, Carranguera music or peasant music is a gender of folclorica music that emerged in the Colombian Andean region, more precisely in the department of Boyacá in the 70's, the hand veterinarian Jorge Velosa and Carrangueros Ráquira. Its origin is attributed to the junction between the peasant Meringue santandereano cundiboyacence highlands and the rumba criolla, vallenato walk and other genres like bambuco and torbellino.
